When it comes to recruiting a team of talented people for their organizations top organizations have a lot in common. They all have a strong recruiting culture. To create a strong recruiting culture with an emphasis on attracting and hiring top candidates the following elements need to be in place:
Strong support from the top to support the goal of hiring top talent.
A comprehensive referral program
Programs that support recruiting such as employment branding strategy, a career site, and referral marketing
Adequate funding for recruitment efforts (planned hires & spikes)
The skills gap/shortage is real and not going away anytime soon. If you want your organization to grow then take the time to invest in understanding this challenge and adding 'talent' to your strategic objectives. Doing things the old way simply won't get you the talent you need.
